In 2022, the last German nuclear reactors from the grid. Now the search for a nuclear repository is to begin. But Bavaria’s Minister President Markus Söder is blocking it. What now?

Nuclear power generation in Germany is now history. However, the future will then be burdened by around 1,900 containers with 27,000 cubic meters of highly radioactive waste from six decades of nuclear energy use. They are supposed to decay in a suitable underground repository – for a million years. But where should it be?
